It’s crazy how much crap we throw away every year. I have been reading alot about this lately in my Sociology Degree. Of course it’s stuff we all probably know but choose to ignore, I am guilty of that myself ! So as I tend to be doing some fashion stuff this year, I have been toying with the idea about making and styling clothes out of junk, but shooting in a fashion stylee. Here is a new model to me, Hector (who I have to say is awsome) modeling some street/household junk. It’s something I will definitely will expand on, as I just love working with different materials. I know it’s probably been done before, but hey each persons interpretation is their own. Afton helped me style the rubbish and Natalie, Hector and Hannah Coorg Modeled on this one. Will add some others at a later date, when I finally get a faster computer, editing is a nightmare at the mo!

This was an extremely different shoot for me, simply having an actual real life Hawk was enough to make it stand out. They say don’t work with children or animals, I have to disagree in this case. Although I was a little freaked out being so close to such a big bird after a little stroke on its feathers I felt at ease and so did Claire. Claire has been chosen by the BBC to star in a documentary which follows her as they try to get her of her market stall and on to the high street. Claire makes amazing jewelry used from feathers donated by bird keepers along with silver items. So over the year I will be doing a series of promotional shots for her that involve some kind of animal. This was my first attempt, and although it was hard to get all the elements working at the same time, the bird was well behaved and I am happy with the results. Here are a select few, with slightly different styles, I still have a load of prints to shift through.. and this time I actually managed to take my medium format twin lens which should be nice!
Make up + Hair - Murtle, Square Roots
Styling - Myself and Claire

This is beautiful Rachel. She unknowingly asked to model for me, I thought what better way to start her of by getting her into her pants and vest in what can only be desrcibed as freezing cold. However we went at the end of the day, and even though I thought I would have more sun it nipped behind the trees after 20 mins which is probably for the best. I wanted to achieve a simple portrait with Rachel she has a beautiful Nordic quality about her which is why I wanted to shoot her outside at first to get that out of my system. This picture is one of several but I like her expression, like a couple of others she is looking at me as if I were crazy, I don’t blame her. I had a struggle of what to pick on these pics because I shot on either side of her which of course produced startingly different tones, but its the expression and light that won overall.

The week starting the 2nd Dec was a bloomin learnin curve for me. I went along to annoy the good people at the Guardian for an internship, but it went rather well in the end! Here are some random ‘city’ shots I took on my last day. I forget how slow Brighton is compared to the big smoke, but I seemed to adjust to the pushing and pulling within only a short few days, and for the first time in my life I started to understand where I was.

This is a collection of production stills from the ‘Bitter Ruin’ music video. Easy job for me, just go ahead and take the stills, were the band members had to sit for hours in very uncomfortable ‘death’ positions.. kudos to them and the director, bless him!.
